LOUISVILLE, Ky — Louisville City FC is just over a month away from kicking off it’s second season in the United Soccer League. Coming off of an incredible first year, in which the club finished second in the league overall, LouCity is reaching out to more youth clubs to partner with in 2016. Southern Indiana United has signed on to be the first Youth Partner to come from the other side of the Ohio River.
Southern Indiana United Soccer Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing its members with a high quality, fun and safe soccer experience that encourages sportsmanship and a love of the game through the development of our players, coaches, referees and teams.
“SIU is proud to partner with Louisville City FC to generate awareness for the sport that we love and promote to players in southern Indiana,” Vice President, Debbie Webb said. “We are excited to be linked with Louisville’s only professional soccer team and look forward to the benefits that this partnership provides for our players, coaches and families. We encourage all of our families to come out to the games and support our hometown team.”
SIU’s Academy Program is open to all boys and girls in the U8 and U9 age group. The focus of the Academy Program is on individual player development, with little focus on winning and scores.
Southern Indiana United’s Select Program is by tryout only and is for boys and girls (Net-Surfers) ages 9 to 19, where they will compete in the fall and spring seasons. Some teams may participate in winter training sessions as well. They also offer a Recreational Program for boys and girls ages 4-19 and is open to all.
