Louisville City FC on Saturday unveiled a 2022 “Gold Standard” third kit that’s a tribute to the stars above the club’s crest and the color that defines them.
Gold Standard kits are available online at shop.loucity.com or in the Lynn Family Stadium Team Store open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Player name and number customization for the third kit will be available in store only and on a limited basis. Fans can reach the store during business hours at (502) 919-9335 to check availability.
The new jerseys — all black with gold trim, logo and lettering — will debut Aug. 13 when LouCity hosts the Tampa Bay Rowdies in its “Fill the Fam” game at Lynn Family Stadium. The club is pushing to eclipse a prior stadium-record crowd of 12,115, delivering an imposing environment against the rival that has eliminated City from the postseason in two straight years.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m., and fans are encouraged to wear black along with the team. A fireworks show will follow the game. Visit LouCity.com/FillTheFam for tickets and more information.
Launched in 2015, LouCity has advanced to at least the Eastern Conference Final in all seven of its seasons to date and is the only USL Championship club to win back-to-back titles accomplished in 2017 and 2018.
A pair of gold stars representing those championships now hover over the crest. Gold is also a former primary team color making a comeback on this third kit.
As with LouCity’s home purple and white away jerseys, the third kit features sponsorship from locally based GE Appliances (front), Kentuckiana Toyota Dealers (back) and MHS Global (sleeve).
