Louisville City FC head coach Danny Cruz will make two changes to his starting lineup for Sunday’s 3 p.m. away kickoff against Detroit City FC, which marks Manny Perez’s first USL Championship minutes back in purple.
Perez, who left LouCity last offseason on a transfer to Europe, returned to the club in August on a new multi-year contract. The defender started in a recent international friendly and will now step onto the pitch in league play to spell Aiden McFadden, who misses Sunday’s game due to concussion protocol.
Cruz’s other change sees Wilson Harris back in the lineup, sharing the front three with Phillip Goodrum and Jansen Wilson, who will flank him out wide.
LouCity’s midfield remains unchanged with Taylor Davila and Elijah Wynder keeping their roles amid a run that’s seen City win eight of its last nine games.
The back of a 5-2-3 shape features winger Amadou Dia on the left, opposite of Perez, with a central defensive line of Sean Totsch, Arturo Ordóñez and Kyle Adams.
Damian Las will play between the posts, though he’s had little work to do lately with LouCity on a 194-minute streak without allowing an opposing shot on target.
LouCity at Detroit will air on ESPN2. Fans can also listen into coverage on ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7.
