Coach Danny Cruz’s first starting lineup of the 2025 season features one Louisville City FC debutant, midfielder Zach Duncan, for Saturday’s 7:30 p.m. kickoff against the Charleston Battery.
One of three newcomers to the 2025 LouCity roster, the Australian played in 33 games for the now-defunct Memphis 901 in 2024, tallying one goal and registering one assist.
All-USL Championship First Team member Taylor Davila will join Duncan in the midfield. Davila finished the 2024 season with 15 goal contributions — eight goals and seven assists.
Damian Las returns in goal for LouCity after posting 75 saves in 34 starts in 2024 in his first season with the club. The Austin FC loanee will wear the No. 1 jersey this season.
The defensive line features a consistent center back trio from 2024 — Kyle Adams, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch. The group made 87 combined starts in 2024.
Up top, Jansen Wilson and Ray Serrano — who both scored in preseason action — will flank center forward Phillip Goodrum, who assumes the starting role this season after the departure of Wilson Harris. The trio combined for 22 goal contributions last season.
With club captain Brian Ownby not in Saturday’s team, Adams will wear the armband. The New Zealander captained LouCity 30 times in 2024.
Saturday’s game at Patriots Point Soccer Complex in South Carolina pits the Eastern Conference’s top-two finishers from 2024. The two sides also met in the 2023 Eastern Conference Final. Both are expected to be among contenders to be the top teams in the conference again in 2025.
