Louisville City FC secures $21.7M in TIF financing

Tax increment financing secured for City’s Butchertown stadium development; construction set to begin in August 2018
 

LOUISVILLE (May 31, 2018) – Louisville City Football Club can today announce that the club has acquired $21.7 million in tax increment financing for the team’s Butchertown stadium development site, set to begin construction in August.

The tax increment financing provided by the Commonwealth of Kentucky allows for the team to move through to the next phase of the project, per LouCity executive vice president Brad Estes:

”This is the true definition of a public/private partnership.  Our ownership has demonstrated great vision in building this club, but the support in Louisville and in Frankfort have been equally key to our success.  To say we are thankful is an understatement.”

The TIF funds from the commonwealth will flow back to the club as it generates incremental taxes in the district and will service the debt for the stadium.   

Upon receiving the necessary funding to move forward, LouCity co-chairman Mike Mountjoy added: “We are pleased that we have been able to work with the state of Kentucky to set up this TIF district.  This revenue will be critical to the financing of this stadium in the heart of the Butchertown Development District.”

The total cost of the project is estimated at $193 million and will be funded by the club’s investors and traditional bank financing.

Louisville City FC Announces TKT & Associates, Inc. as Diversity Consultant for Butchertown Stadium Site Project
Corporation to assist in ensuring the club’s continual commitment to minority businesses and workforces in site phase and construction of development

LOUISVILLE (May 21, 2018) – Louisville City FC has today announced that TKT & Associates, Inc. is the official diversity consultant and workforce project partner for City’s Butchertown stadium development project. Together, the pair is committed to ensuring the availability of contract opportunities for minority and women-owned businesses as well as the makeup of the workforce for the club’s stadium project in the Butchertown neighborhood district, pending the approval of the TIF in May.

In addition, after Louisville City FC’s donations of $125,000 to the Urban League and $25,000 to Youth Build, TKT & Associates, Inc. will collaborate with the Urban League to assist in placing newly trained employees throughout the Louisville metro area.

“LouCity looks forward to positively impacting our community through the relationship we are building with TKT & Associates, Inc. Collectively, we will ensure that those trained with the generous donation from our ownership group will be working not only on our stadium site but on many projects to come throughout our city,” said Brad Estes, Executive VP of Louisville City FC. 

TKT & Associates, Inc. will also act as the club’s diversity consultant for regulatory compliance on the TIF project as well as in the construction phase, which is set to begin in June, again pending the approval of the TIF in May. 

“TKT is truly excited about the relationship we are building with LouCity FC to strengthen the inclusion of diverse business owners and laborers, not only on this project but the multiple projects in and around our community,” said Tierra Kavanaugh Wayne, CEO of TKT & Associates, Inc. 

TKT & Associates, Inc. was selected from a number of proposals to serve as the club’s consultant throughout the development project, which is set to complete in the year 2020. 

The consultant will hold its first Diversity & Inclusion outreach event on Tuesday, May 22 from 9:00-11:00 A.M. in the Community Room located at 1535 W. Broadway Street. LOUISVILLE (April 2, 2018) – Louisville City FC is proud to announce that it is partnering with Kroger in a collaborative effort to end hunger with the Zero Goals, Zero Hunger, campaign. This year, the supermarket chain will donate $500 per clean sheet earned at home by LouCity to Dare to Care, a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding the hungry and conquering the cycle of need.

“LouCity is proud to involve itself with an initiative like Kroger’s Zero Goals, Zero Hunger campaign, and to partner with a chain like Kroger, which has a strong presence in the Louisville area,” added John Neace, LouCity chairman. “We are committed to ending hunger and waste together and look forward to our partnership this year and beyond.”

Kroger launched the Zero Hunger, Zero Waste plan in September 2017 and is dedicated to their Purpose: to Feed The Human Spirit. This purpose is part of a larger set of goals set by The Kroger Co. Foundation to accelerate food donations, advocate for public policy solutions addressing hunger, and eliminate food waste by 2025 in communities like Louisville.

“We are excited to be partnering with Louisville City FC to help bring more focus to ending hunger here in Louisville,” said Erin Grant, Kroger spokesperson. “By joining with great community partners, we hope to see our Zero Hunger, Zero Waste vision come to life.”

In total, Kroger is dedicated to contributing a minimum of $5,000 throughout the year.

In addition, Kroger will serve as the presenting sponsor of “Fan Appreciation Night,” which is slated for the final home match of the year on Saturday, October 13.

Louisville City FC and Kentuckiana Toyota Dealers have today announced an official partnership that will see the dealers – Oxmoor Toyota, Jeff Wyler Toyota of Clarksville, and Toyota of Louisville – become the official shirt-sleeve and shorts sponsor through to the end of the 2019 season.

Showing off the year’s new threads for the first time in the season opener on Saturday, March 17, LouCity will sport its new home kit against Nashville SC. An afternoon kickoff at Slugger Field, the match is the visitors’ first-ever in USL competition, while it’s LouCity’s first since winning the 2017 USL Cup in November.

Only the second ever shirt-sleeve sponsor and shorts sponsor, Toyota joins GE Appliances (front) and Visionworks (back) on all 2018 match jerseys and will also become the presenting sponsor of the LouCity Match Center on www.loucity.com.

Louisville City FC can today confirm that Steve Livingstone has resigned as chief operating officer.

Livingstone originally joined the club as a consultant in April 2017 before joining the staff in a full-time role as C.O.O. in July 2017. His extensive background in sport brought him to Louisville after spending time with NFL Europe’s Scottish Claymores, the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, and former NASL club Jacksonville Armada FC, where he helped guide the club to league attendance records in 2015.

The Scot’s accomplishments for LouCity FC include helping to break the club’s attendance record in the regular season (13,813 vs. FC Cincinnati; August 2017) and in the postseason (14,456 vs. Swope Park Rangers; November 2017); playing a pivotal role in progressing the development of the Butchertown stadium site; and successfully assisting in developing LouCity’s reputation as one of the leading clubs in the United States.

Louisville City FC and GE Appliances are pleased to announce a two-year extension to the presenting partnership that teams the appliance giant with the current USL Champions through to at least the end of the 2019 season.

Extending the deal as the club’s primary presenting sponsor from March 2017, the GE Appliances logo will continue to feature prominently on the front of all LouCity team jerseys and replica shirts through the next two years. Authentic kits featuring the GE Appliances brand will soon be available for purchase as the club also unveiled the updated design of its new 2018 season kit ahead of the new USL season.

LouCity will continue to don all-purple home kits with the white GE Appliances logo and the new addition of gold trim from the adidas Tiro label. The updated away strip features a white and gold hoop design with gold shorts and gold trim, with a black GE Appliances logo spanning across the front. The third kit, selected by the club’s supporters via an online poll last season, features a black and purple “championship” design with gold trim from the adidas Squadra line, and a bright gold GE Appliances logo in the center – referencing LouCity’s first USL Championship won last year.

Louisville City FC today announced an exciting extension and expansion of their long-standing radio partnership with iHeartMedia.

iHeartMedia will continue to serve as LouCity’s official radio partner for at least the next two years and will expand their current soccer programming across its strong network of stations to feature a new, weekly LouCity Coach’s Show presented by Mulloy Commercial Real Estate on Mondays from 8:00-9:00 P.M. on the flagship station, NewsRadio 840 WHAS. The regular program will feature LouCity head coach James O’Connor each week during the USL Season and will be hosted by broadcaster Tony Vanetti.

In addition to O’Connor’s weekly show, fans will be able to enjoy the weekly Soccer City Radio broadcast, which currently airs on Saturday mornings on WKRD 790 AM from 8:00-9:00 A.M. Featured talent Lance McGarvey and Keith O’Loane will continue in their roles, while the show will be moved to a prime Thursday evening spot on TalkRadio 1080 from 7:00-8:00 P.M. at the start of the new season. LOUISVILLE (February 14, 2018) – Louisville City Football Club and the United States Army Garrison – Fort Knox are excited to announce today a planned visit from head coach James O’Connor and the entire LouCity squad to the Fort Knox Kentucky Army Installation in Fort Knox, Kentucky on Tuesday, February 27.

Forming an unprecedented relationship with some of America’s finest, LouCity will arrive for a full day of team-building activities that will allow the squad to experience various military demonstrations as well as test their character in an afternoon session at the Dunagan Team Development Course on-site.

After the day’s activities have come to conclusion, the LouCity squad will be made available for a meet-and-greet with various members of the Army, signing autographs and taking pictures at Fort Knox Turf Field. The team will then participate in an intrasquad scrimmage at the turf facility at 5:00 P.M. before departing Fort Knox.

“We are thrilled to work with the U.S. Army at Fort Knox and to learn more about their accomplishments, and most importantly, to thank them all for their service,” said O’Connor. “This will be an excellent opportunity for the lads to gain some insight on a number of different levels and to work together in such a rare opportunity.”

The evening scrimmage is free and open to the public, and LouCity fans are encouraged to bring their favorite LCFC apparel to be signed by the players and staff. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating as bleacher capacity will be limited.
